During the test drive my wife was at the dealership backward and I later learned that there were three other interested

Since there is no review yet, strange actually, an older Landcruiser, in this my experience with an almost classic. We needed a car there and because of the snow in mountainous areas in winter (we live in Norway) it had to be a 4x4. Go because of the good reputation of Toyota look at this brand. In June 2007 we bought this car. Equipped with a 2.4 liter diesel engine, 5-speed, engine heater, alarm and four studded tires. And with 182,000 kilometers on the clock. For a car of 23 years, of course, very little.

During the test drive my wife was at the dealership backward and I later learned that there were three other interested people come to ask for the car. It was therefore important to quickly get its act together. The purchase had absolutely no regrets! Later on the Internet I read that this model in Africa still popular is because of the reliability and the lack of electronics. They are still new supplied in long version or pick up! Says something about the popularity of the model.

Interior
Of course, typical eighties with lots of hard plastic. The seats begins what to wear on the driver's seat because you still chafes over when boarding there. Furthermore, it creaks a bit interier.

Exterior
There are now seen some rust spots on the body that I am now addressing. Rust has to be the main disadvantage of this car. But with his black lacquer and red with gray striping he looks further fine. The spare wheel is now on the inside of the door. Beginning in the future to move to the outside of the door, because that's just part as a road vehicle. Tougher state and saves luggage.

Driving
in the Landcruiser denotes good during high above the rest of the traffic. Now the rest of the traffic is often here in Norway also in road vehicles, so this advantage is gone. In the back is uncomfortable because of the leaf springs, but we have also bought it because of its all-wheel drive and ground clearance. The car gives you while driving a nice no-nonsense, back to basics feel that I really like and what I had in my first car (VW Polo 1987). Modern cars miss that my Toyota Avensis.

Motor
A 2.4 liter without turbo. Above this article is turbocharged, but that's not true. The version we have no turbo I just could not choose from the menu. Probably who have not been available in the Netherlands. Why be here with all these mountains is beyond me. But no turbo so, but it can not be broken. 72 Hp so pretty slow, but does he fine for us. Equipped with a fine-shifting 5-speed. The operation of the whole car is indeed pleasant light, I was expecting heavier. Consumption is about 1 in 10/11. Nevertheless pleased that 90 gallon tank in the car ....

Conclusion
In the years I must fight the rust devil and if that does well I want this car I drive as long as possible. The motor can handle it in any case. 4 tonnes should be fine I think.
PROBLEMS

No
Update (208.500 km)

An update, it was about time. In June, had an MOT. He rolled through there without problems, and that old for a car of 26 years. We are with still very satisfied. I December last year only replace the oil and oil filter. I planned a major overhaul at the end of this year, I did not have to do since we got him.
The rust is still a problem, but I fight now hammerite, works fine.
The driver's seat fabric is starting to wear quite well. Shame but to solve with seat covers.
We strumming quietly!
Update (245.800 km)

After a long time for an update. The car now has 245.800. Technical compliance of the car very well, but replacing some wear parts such as the clutch and the injectors. But that should in such an old car, I think. Further, the rust devil reveals a stubborn ... He still has some rust spots here and there. I'll have to do something about it. Furthermore, the timing belt should be replaced soon but fortunately I have a neighbor who is Toyota mechanic. That saves ...... Hope the car to take a long time. Just a pity that the quality of the sheet metal not measure love with the art.

2 weeks ago I suddenly got the message that there is something with the DPF was not good

After 3 years in a Sharan, then 5 years riding in a New Alhambra, I wanted now 'ns something else. A car with a bit more character and Adaptive Cruise Control. The choice fell on a Ford S-MAX or a BMW 5 touring. Since the ACC BMW as the best from the (German) tests were eventually chosen for BMW. I also did not want a new one - too much aggregation. So it had to be a 2nd hand ... And that was not easy. and affordable (budget: up to € 40,000), and not too many km's on the clock. First to BMW Laarhoven been in Eindhoven, but they were not interested to give me such a car.

After 0.5 years finally 525D search found at dealers in Germany. Over the phone completed the price, then go look at the car and then arranged the import via importautos.nl and send for the car. Then it turned out that the car was delivered under the BMW Premium conditions ... so was one year warranty and includes 60,000 km turn. Then I myself went to the RDW. Entire process took +/- 1 month. This route I recommend everyone: German car companies are super reliable and the choice is huge. Then built in alarm and paintwork work out. And all well within budget!

And then drive it ... Unbelievable how many bells and whistles sit on this car. I am now almost through the stack (German speaking) guides go ...
The most notable cases.
- Pitter 6 with 6-speed automatic. Never driven a diesel machine that drives and turns as smoothly. What a great car!
- ACC. A pleasure! Incomprehensible that this feature is so unknown in the Netherlands. You drive so much quieter and it saves a whole lot of frustration!
- Xenon lighting. In GB I do not add much, but on German motorways is a pleasure. Just evening 180-190 relaxed driving without each time having to do with your great light.
- Comfort seats including half leather upholstery and heated seats. I never knew that so many buttons you can have a seat. I think there are as many as 10 engines in each chair to fit everything in. A discovery!
- Electric retractable towbar. Here I had never heard of. This option I could not imagine.
- Professional navigation. Works well, but too bad that the system still works and DVDs instead of hard disk pity that the cards do not max. Show speeds. Two features that were already in my 5 year old MIO. What is a delight, is the big screen. Much more control you have here.
- I thoroughly informed if it is possible to add the NL language. Ultimately, this appears to be for about € 150, but the (speaking) voice control which is also inserted, it does not anymore. By now I am used to the English menu, so I decided not to do this anymore.

The consumption of 6 pitter any case is me. Similar to the 140hp 4 pitter the Alhambra. I consider the engine to tune now-so he's still going to run some more economical and being a little spicier. Does anybody have experience with this?
The first turn is over! (82,500 km)

After having ridden a good half year, a brief update.
I did not let tune the car (yet). He is still in the warranty and after a lot of (nonsense) are about to read, I'm still not convinced whether it is or is not good for cars to do so. My dealer recommends it.
After having driven about 2 months along, I found out that the air conditioning did not. Above 4x went to the garage to fix the problem. Obviously a warranty issue, but in the Netherlands BMW does not understand how it works with German cars. For those who consider it a buy with warranty see www.vdstoel.nl for my tips and experiences with my BMW dealer and the lengthy discussions I've had with this BMW Netherlands.
Meanwhile over topbanden.com 4 new summer tires (Pirelli P7 runflat) and 4 new winter tires (runflat Nokiam) bought.
The car has recently had its first turn at BMW Laarhoven in Eindhoven. And then show a 6-cylinder diesel still somewhat more expensive to maintain than a 4-cylinder, because I had some € 600 tick off.
Also, I recently had my first injury: a car gave him a kiss. " Just a little too enthusiastic, but the staff of bodyshop Mikkers swarmed were proud that such a beautiful car, they again were impeccably trimming. And I on them, because they did it neatly.
What is planned for the coming months? Not much, just maybe a better set of speakers. The bass is very bad in the standard hi-fi set. Did someone perhaps good suggestions?
The winter (93,000 km)

The winter began for me with new winter tires. After extensive googling, I went to Topbanden.com for Nokiam set 'specifically for BMW 5 series. This I knew: I have never had such bad tires. With a little speed driving through a curve and immediately the traction control intervened. I then advised by Tires Service Eight put on the rear wheels and Continental tires have problem was solved. Lesson: a BMW is a luxury car, they just need expensive tires. Not to cut so.

Just before Christmas I decided to tune the engine after this still have discussed 'ns Marijn Pike Fleet Access in Nuenen. This I can highly recommend it: the car goes a lot smoother running, you just feel the extra horsepower. At temperatures above 9 degrees the motor is furthermore also run slightly more economical.

Well what do you want more? I sat me still annoyed by the lousy sound from the audio system. After much searching finally decided to put Gladen ONE BMW Pack 1 it. it costs something, but then you have some. An experienced mechanic of Fleet Access has been a day working on it because we thought it had to be replaced, the speaker wiring. But then you have something. What a great sound is now there.

And then it happened. When the 20 degrees below zero, I went one day and down to the north of the country and suddenly the car did not faster 120 km / h running. The turbo would still not be inflated by the tuning? After the engine off and having turned, he ran again as before. On inquiring at Fleet Access found that this is a security booth of the car. This was because I turned quickly after slowing quickly accellereerde on the highway. And this apparently could not quite keep up with the machine. Seems to be more common, but unfortunately, this phenomenon is not described in the manual of the car.
A trouble-ridden year (128,000 km)

The past year had no problems. For winter new Michelin winter tires (rear) purchased; Here I have had a lot of fun in Germany. I hope a long time to be able to drive this car, it remains a privilege to be able to drive such a nice car.
Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is replaced (135,000 km)

2 weeks ago I suddenly got the message that there is something with the DPF was not good. Went to the garage, and they reported that the DPF is too full, making it no longer regenerates. Remedy: quite possibly succeeds to the liquid additive in the fuel to solve the problem, an alternative is replaced DPF. First the liquid but tried. Unfortunately without success.
What now? Replaced free of +/- € 1,800 (!) Incl. VAT. And this is not even at the dealership. Well, then just go googling. How others solved this? The options passed:
- Remove the DPF. Seemed like a good idea.
- DPF cleaned with a high pressure washer. Also seemed like a good idea.
- DPF replaced by a non-original model. Also seemed like a good idea.
- Cleaned DPF approved in an oven, TUV. This sounded good to me in the ears. 2 options: Via www.tunex.nl:. Cost € 435 inc VAT (they deliver Barten GmbH (http://www.russfilterreinigung.de) remanufactured filters Alternative:. Order itself overhauled filter at http: //www.dpf -clean.de (cost: € 599 including VAT, filter through swap dealer (+/- € 175 incl VAT) Therefore chose the option Tunex Fast and helped excellent, I can recommend this solution anyone....!
cleaning machine (140.000 km)

When I was at Tunex, I heard about the opportunity to clean the machine. This was highly recommended, since BMW has no schedule to replace the oil. With the possible result that the robot once breaks down at some point.
A new or refurbished machine is quite expensive, so err on the side of caution but accepted. Cost: € 395, I see it as insurance.
A few minor niggles (160,000 km)

2014, we got through reasonably smoothly. At the beginning of the year, a small turn, nothing special. At the end of the year some faults: the tweeters did not work correctly. They are replaced under warranty. Further worked right mirror no longer good. It also renewed. Finally jumped the window in the tailgate open regularly: fortunately no wiring problem, but the switch defect proved to be.

Oh yeah, there is also someone driving behind the car. Result: bumper replaced and a new electric, retractable towbar.
Replacing crankshaft (176,000 km) - overhaul

Hmm 2015 began with an expensive turn. Several strings had to be replaced, but the car also heard an unwanted sub sound at idle which pointed to the crankshaft pulley. This immediately even replaced. Total costs (including cleaning): around € 1,400! I would like to definitely keep driving for a year in this car, so I hope we do not get more surprises.

The first months did nothing until I dropped by the left rear spring in Amsterdam

After starting my first job, i needed a car that obviously was not too expensive and frugal. The brother of my grandfather had just deceased and polo had been quiet for a while. The widow had no driver's license and the car had gone. The good man had then bought him of the money he had won in a lottery. He used the car to drive to his visstekkie and 1 once a week to the supermarket.
The classic tale of old man with hat also here was not only stood inside and prime the tapes even though he was not. At the time of purchase the car was 9 years old. And the tires had or still good profile but they were replacing. Rust was not in sight and the only options were a rear shelf (!!) and green tinted glass. I could do worse with a first car, it was technically as good as new. With its 45 hp engine and a absolute basis vierbak car, then too. But I was very happy.

For 4500 guilders I could take him.

The first months did nothing until I dropped by the left rear spring in Amsterdam. Crippled the local garage offered yet reached where it was found that the retainer was rusted because the drainage holes a long time had been hidden, so the metal was rusted through. A little used car is not always an advantage, but it appears.
Two new shock absorbers leave behind assemble and equal 4 new Michelin tires in size 155/70 Classic there.
Thereafter, the polo is used as a daily commuter car. Daily about 90 kilometers. Whereby it must be said that the chairs were pretty decent. Also used as a moving car. Thereby straight back came in handy. Rear seats and stow but ....

The first year we went on holiday to Switzerland with the polo. On the autobahn you have not so much to seek with so little power and A four but with good anticipation denotes the fast guys as little as possible in the way.
Top speed even tried .... 140 km on the clock. Well ..
In Switzerland climbed the grimsel and Furka Pass. But he did not not budge. The whole holiday went smoothly.

Two years later and made short holiday in Luxembourg. Also about the poor Belgian motorways was the suspension of us smoothly enough.

In the seven years that we have driven the polo, the car we never leave. Oil nil. With this car I never replenished oil. That's when all cars after it though !!
If maintenance just replace the normal wear parts. The shock absorbers and brake discs I replaced with help himself. Furthermore, replacing the old cassette / radio player with a radio with CD player and a good set of speakers and therefore the single mono speaker was mounted on the dashboard retire ....
The Michelin tires went along for 75,000 km and 125,000 km behind.
Then replaced Toyo's, which I bought just because they were on sale. The French slippers then always longed.
Consumption on the highway was always at around 1 in 15, 1 in 16.

As had selected with the arrival of a baby for a Volvo 440 with additional rear doors and larger trunk, a second car, the Polo was more to it.
And had two cars in succession after a year have been sold with a heavy heart to a woman around for 900 guilders.
But we are often on the polo when we talk about the holidays we have had with them. And if I could I would have redeemed him most.
Now I can say it is one of the best cars we've had after so many years.

After obtaining my license had come i wanted my first car

After obtaining my license had come i wanted my first car! I did not require much - it just needs to be technically sound and safe, not have too many prospects and replacement power steering must be present.
After searching for an older small economical car I have a lot of options pass by:
- Daihatsu Cuore (no stuurberkachtiging, is not for me)
- Volkswagen Polo (hard to find a decent copy)
- Suzuki Swift (there really old look ...)
- Opel Tigra (rear seat is a no brainer, I'm small and I even got my head against the roof + a good one is hard to find, many are scuffed and rusted).

When Peugeot 206 came into the picture and was bought. It is an XT version (1.4 engine, 75HP, three-door) with fog lights front and rear, third brake light, power windows, door locks universal remote.

What struck me is that there are no real rust was present and that a car that is 16 years old. It also has not stood in the garage by the previous owner, so it is not about that. For a 16-year-old is the very new and sporty look - a modern appearance!

This car does everything on the tachometer after - it seems to be a common problem for the 206. I do not find it distracting, gives the car actually decide when it's time to switch. It turns fine, obviously not as great as my instruction car (a BMW), but very good for the age. Brakes he is perfect and has saved me already 2 times a collision (once for a cyclist who was not paying attention and fled without looking to the left and once on the highway at a sudden traffic jam).

What strikes me is the view you have from the car - everything is incalculable good, rearward visibility is very good. And you feel safe in the car. I've been in several small cars as a passenger and must confess that it is not always felt safe here. Here it is a different story - the car feels solid, the seats are comfortable. I have some time problems with my lower back and my zelfst lesauto I received after 2-hour drive real pain in my back and wanted to get out as quickly as possible. This is not - I made a trip of 3 hours and there was nothing to fault.
However, it is small inside, of course, for me as a fairly small person to do it, but if you're a bigger man in the passenger seat you sit next to you, touch the person during the switch, which could be disturbing (not for me).
The trunk is large - will fit easily into four large bags. Self transportation I had my two medium-sized dogs, whatever is fine.

For now I have no problems to discover, after the revolution. The tire profile is still good, around 4 mm. The timing belt is replaced at 180,000 km, so is still great. The points for the upcoming MOT at the end of the year are likely to be the left arm, the right wing has recently been replaced by the previous owner and perhaps a shock absorber left. But we'll see.

With 1,000 kilometers I wanted to write a first review. Now the Zafira driven two weeks in succession, but only 1.5 days. Tell me more about that.

After nearly four years in a Megane Dynamique Estate was time for something new.
Although the Megane has never let me stand (very important), I had some remarks. In particular, the chairs, rattles and creaks started to become annoying.

Virtually no restrictions from the employer to sort it out. Of course there is a ceiling and it should not be a three-door. Personally, I do not want to exceed 20% and space is desirable with a young family.

Started with a long list
1508 SW
2 SuperB Combi
3 Ford C max
4 A4 Avant. Found this too cramped and very expensive options.
5 DS 5. Indoor play against really huge, but an awful nice car.
6 Scenic. Anyway but not because of the experience with the Megane and found the car not very spacious.

Eventually three cars to the top 3.
1 Opel Zafira. Just before I had to order I saw the new 1.6 diesel was available.
2508 SW. Gorgeous car, but chose the Zafira because of space and sits higher.
3 SuperB. Something boring from within.
Cmax was lost as soon as I stepped into the Zafira the 1st time (space).

The Zafira surprised me with its high seating (surely tasty), space, quality feel and plenty of power.

After a few months of patience Zafira was delivered two weeks ago. A business model with a pair of option packages in the color Carbon Black.

The first ride home was lovely, a space around you.

The next morning, left early, but with only 114km an error on the counter. Stopped along the way, engine off and on again .. Again the error.
Anyway to go to the nearest dealer.

Sir, can happen! Matter of Reading and you can go again. Unfortunately, that was not the case. 1 mechanic, a mechanic and then a third .. Got malaise.
Sir, we can not solve it, further diagnosis is necessary. Later that day, a phone call that the Turbo had broken. It could be going to take some part was on back order.

Through the mail yet contacted Opel Netherlands, that the answer that the proper procedure was followed.

After about 1.5 weeks the car and today for the first time up and down the matter, delicious.

Now just spit a small piece of gal ..
When your new car breaks down, you will not hear it followed the procedure. You want only one thing and that is that with might and main to get started to fix the car! If you like Opel not know when an item will be available, I think that's just bad!

When you end your new car pick up after 1.5 weeks and your pack of bread two weeks ago is hidden under the driver's seat (very cozy mushrooms in autumn), and three blobs sit bird droppings on your car, then you have the courage drops slightly in shoes. The honesty to tell me that this is still going really different at Renault.

A recommendation for Opel ... Customer service should not only be a department!

So enough whining, but air or on.

First been through the wash and hope that this was a false start.

Once I've made the following updates more mileage.
Delicious (2,500 km)For example, the first 2,500 kilometers are over.
After `turbo` incident finally to enjoy.

What is there in a positive way:
- Quality Perception interior I feel fine.
- Space a relief.
- Engine is remarkably quiet.
- Sufficient traction.
- Quiet and stable on the highway (about 130)
- What an ease with the flip of banks etc ..

The `knoppenbrei` where you read so much negative about it I find very easy in practice. Most buttons will automatically point. Myself I like that the buttons, especially when I compare this with the ministry in the Megane.

Junior points:
- The driver's seat (AGR) gives loose feeling when cornering. Self attempted to gain movement in the chair, which, however, does not work. Maybe there's something not quite right in the session. Need to go back to the dealer.
- Navigation I find myself somewhat cumbersome work. Still not used very much, so it may still be a matter of getting used to.
- In particular or in long corners you notice that you're on the go with a fairly heavy car.

After the first 100,000 KM it is about time to write a short review about the Skoda Superb Combi 1.6 TDI Ambition greenline

After the first 100,000 KM it is about time to write a short review about the Skoda Superb Combi 1.6 TDI Ambition greenline. What a great car! Comfort and space are perfectly fine. Long distances (particularly on the Autobahn) are a pleasure to drive and really the 105 HP, which my German colleagues rather laggerig do about it, are more than adequate. Cruise 170-180 KM / h is very comfortable in terms of ride and noise. Actually it is a very quiet car (small resonance between 150-160 KM / h). The reason for choosing this car as lease car is the front of the huge space, and the rear trunk. My son is 2 meters long and fits gemakkerlijk behind the directors chair on which I with my 1.9 meter height is quite comfortable. An additional benefit is the 20% addition. Consumption 1:18 KM / L which is very decent for this size car. My previous company car Toyota Verso I did not get more efficient than 1:13. I'm still working on my first set of summer and winter tires to ride and attend both still wide profile.

The Ambition version has a range of accessories is complemented by two additional options, namely: electric adjustable drivers seat (highly recommended) and electric tailgate (2x was "spontaneous" open during a heavy rainstorm). The navi Amundsen + radio is fine and the sound quality just fine. This is my first car with Xenon lights (Std) and it would be on the next car to buy it so again, it really makes a big difference with halogen lighting.

Skoda runs from turn to turn (1x per 30,000 KM) also had no problems, not even a beep or kraakje, in short, perfect.

Is nothing to bleat? Well anyway: First of all, the position of the rear view, which is that layer! The hindered a large part of the view, this could have been a better (higher assemble). The A-pillars create a relatively large blind spot, I've been a few times frightened by a car that appeared suddenly in front of me ... The rear wiper does moaning his work. The front wipers in position with rain sensor are usually so slow that I've been out to the streets with rain before they make the first blow. This can also be better in my opinion.

When the Superb Combi comes from lease (May 2015) I will probably choose a Skoda with this engine. However, a 20% addition execution, perhaps the new Octavia, a very nice car!
Halftime (155,800 km)The Skoda Superb Combi has passed the 150,000 km border. Once again drove many very comfortable mileage. The car "feels" still very solid, no creaks, hear squeaks and rattles. The seats feel just as when the car was new, and also the coating does not show that the car is well over 100,000 Km.

Whether it is a short drive in the Netherlands or a long (fast) ride in Germany Comfort with a capital C, and on the German Autobahn is a cruising speed of 160-180 km / h to keep quite full without getting fatigue. Consumption is still a strong point average between 1: 18-19 Km / L in the Netherlands and between 1:16 - 17 Km / L while driving on the Autobahn. I still drive with the original set of summer and winter!

Is there nothing to notice? Yes verily meanwhile had two defects in the Skoda: At 130,000 Km was damping rubber between the door handle left disappeared. The handle lined no longer neatly with the rest of the inside door and folds on-muted to the inside. Not a deal but nicely asked the overhaul of the garage would replace the rubber. Well that was not so simple, a complete door handle unit (€ 147.50) had to come to pass in order to solve it and accepted the leasing company (initially) the cost is not (damage caused by the driver ... ..). 2nd problem came to light at about 143,000 km, the coolant level in the expansion vessel sank slowly. Here at the garage along for refill, but I had to leave the car. The water pump was leaking and they found it unwise to continue. The next day I could pick up the car, the water pump and timing belt are then renewed.

I am now in terms of lease in the last part, I have the beginning of 2015 to reach the max. Mileage of 180,000 and it is time for a new lease. I am almost certain it is a Skoda weather, Superb and Octavia Combi. Superb because of the high comfort and space (20% addition). The Octavia is an alternative for the 14% addition. I this car will first have to test if I have too much going backwards in comfort and space weather a Superb!
End leasperiode (172 600 km)The first Skoda Superb has been submitted at the end of its lease period at a mileage of 172 600 KM. Very satisfied and report any problems over the entire period. Consumption still a neat one liter at 18/19 KM.

Again selected a Skoda Superb Ambition buisiness line with the green line diesel engine. Of this I will report back after the first 30,000 KM.

The previous car was after seven years of service with 145,000 km on the clock to be replaced

I have the P955S been a year now and I have not had many cars for so long. There are two brands that I find really fantastic and that is the Range Rover and Porsche. I've had three range rovers and this is my 3rd Porsche. To do a 944 and a 911, but drove the Cayenne 4.5S's a completely different car.

I meanwhile drove 13000km and has had a major service at Porsche Maastricht and the cost was a lot less than the Range Rover. Also, a lot less to defect, I have meanwhile xenon lights to replace and have a fault in the parking sensors with very heavy rain but no further problems. We have been with the family in Norway and this is an all-rounder, with 200km / h on the German autobahn, but also ease the mountains of gravel, mud, etc. This is called the dynamic air and 4wd with difflock etc so really everything. Only the ground clearance is less compared to the range rover.

But consumption is much less, the range of 1: 5 and the Porsche 1: 7 and the road tax is also lower.
Yes, of course it is not hugely cheap but it is a Porsche, and there are few cars that keeping me or follow me into the grounds.

The following is another porsche cayenne, or yet another rover ... difficult choice. Reliability and cost, it should be the Porsche, to feel the range rover.

If you buy one, the purchase is not high today, please note that all the turns made by Porsche, and whether the cooling water pipes have been replaced. There is one problem with the cayenne and the nylon cooling water pipes which can spontaneously jump and then you can not do anything more. Costs about 1600. In this they were replaced but that's the only thing to look out for.

The previous car was after seven years of service with 145,000 km on the clock to be replaced. Sought after by many internernet to have and to have read all the reviews to make a specification comparison with a new Octavia, there remained the Active Tourer with about 3 VW Tiguan Sport & Style 1.6. The choice between the first two was not easy. My directive was € 30,000, -. The BMW was thereover about 10%, and the VW about 20%. That made me a little too much. Skoda mule 1.4 in a very complete performance remained just inside the directive. Initially, the Skoda was therefore the favorite, partly because of the good experience after a lot of "autobahn" -ritten to Austria. The BMW was the last in the grounds of the higher entry (we are 70+) but no SUV height, slightly less height rather more length, comfort, maneuverability, German thoroughness and sense of more cars, talking me very much. After an extensive test drive, I finally went for the adventure with the Active Tourer.
The execution was as simple as possible. However necessary it was Executive Package (Fog lamps, basic navigation, automatic climate control, cruise control and servo control), PDC front and rear and an adjustable back length and little compensation for the surrender of luggage. The engine so the 3 cylinder, 1500 cc and 136 hp Twin Turbo. The color Atlantic Grey (gray / blouw) and an additional set of steel wheels with winter tires.
For us use a performance that had to meet the expectations.

January 7 picked up my new car and the first 1500 km, after four weeks behind.
My first impression sometimes that I now own a mobile computer. Controls and switches are logically arranged, but the number of uses is extensive and get used to. One can therefore better to first make a little ride and then the (moderate) instruction booklet afterwards used as a source of information. Next ride, book consult enz..Dat learns faster as pre-read the (moderate) booklet.

The ride itself is a pleasure. I have the pleasure to ride more often with bigger BMWs, but Active Tourer does not get much for under terms of space. The comfort difference there is hardly any. Of course, it is (only) a 3 cylinder and the known roffeltje during acceleration but also has its sporty charm. Do not make too many revs; change between 2000 and max. 3500 rpm and hole when the fire thanks to Twin Turbo. I love to ride on, the rapid acceleration I appreciate, but I am not someone who goes through the corner with screeching tires. Those who think they miss so called BMW feeling, I am therefore not mean motorists.
The Active Tourer is an excellent steering tight, taut suspension, multi-functional, well thought-out car with a lot of traveling comfort, excellent handling characteristics and, importantly, also the third cilnder, with great pleasure, pleasant steering, driving very smoothly. Consumption, according to the onboard computer, just in Rotterdam area: one at 13. I accept it blindly, because otherwise I drive a car never more. The trunk must either prove in the next vacation.
Oh yeah, it also count ... Nothing but compliments about his looks and the interior.
Hiccups: Thick styles in the field of vision and navigation that can not beat my old TomTom.

In the autumn, when the first 15,000 km on it is, I hope to bring you up to date on my subsequent experiences.

Meanwhile I renounced that Punto Evo and traded him to Renault Zoe

Meanwhile I renounced that Punto Evo and traded him to Renault Zoe. Because I still have fun with 3 years in the Punto have driven around it deserves a review.

In 2011 I traded a fairly young BMW 520D Touring the Punto (new). The first was a diesel and aggregation guzzling machine, which equals the main reason for this strange transition. To go backwards not too much in handling and performance, I immediately let a sport chassis and car Novitec long been at Savali in Houten for a horsepower boost. Both surgeries I've never regretted it. To begin with Savali, if you ever tune a Fiat, Alfa or Lancia, then this is the place to be. Here they have serious understanding and know what they can and can not reach the engine. It's a difference of day and night. The torque and power is higher, but mostly comes across a wider area very nice. The chassis was hard pruning, especially careful thresholds. But because of a pleasure to drive on the highway and back road. No tilting or gedein more.

On reliability, I have to criticize anything. The only repair has been the replacement of the turbocharger. Since this is not a Fiat product is the most fragile mechanical part of the engine I leave this aside for reliability. Furthermore, only replace bulbs and regular maintenance. The car is very solid screwed together. Evidence for this is that after more than 75,000 km with a hard board chassis there are no squeaks or rattles in the interior. I did not expect and deserve kudos.

Consumption also does not disappoint. Obviously, the manufacturer is not to pick. But with 17-inch low-profile (summer) tires with an average of 1:20 feasible and with winter tires in standard size 1:22. These are relatively large city mileage, so these values can up much highway or country roads.

The comfort in the car is fine. I think the Punto Evo is the quietest in its class, at least certainly compared with rattling marble trays from the VW group. This version had dual ECC, Blue & Me, etc. All comfort-enhancing things that also work properly. The chairs are suitable for long distances, but would be allowed to offer more lateral support. The length of the sessions is fine, similar to cars from two segments higher.

Under the car, I also have fit a towbar. We twice went to Italy with the trailer (1,000 kg). Without a contraction pulled over the alps, how easy is unlikely to get the 1.3 diesel uphill knows the combination. Return on average 3,500 kilometers 1: 12.5 realized in maintaining +/- 100 km / h. Also very neat.

There are of course downsides, but that's a little searching of splitting hairs. Anyway, I am still disturbed me on: The front overhang is quite long. Occasionally he scrapes across a threshold, obviously this is not improved by decreasing. The front passenger seat can not completely flat, it is difficult to transport long items. At the radio reception finally could be better. Not that it's bad, but weak stations it up just a little less well.

In conclusion, a good solid car that can still bring a lot of mileage. I am convinced that the next owner will still have a long time. Pity that Fiat has such a bad name, because this model deserves certainly not!

On my 19th birthday I thought it was still time to buy a first car. Not because this was necessary, but just for my fun. I had a small budget and soon came to a Peugeot 106. Basically, I was looking at the model from 1996 and not the old model (little squarer). Yet I chose this model because I have a nice copy of which ran from a dealer in Amersfoort. For 900 euros was for sale this but I took the car (with new MOT) for 625 euros after considerable haggling!

For only 12,95 I'm monthly insurance and road tax 2 bucks a month can bring through.

I am now 4 months and almost 5,000 km. I am amazed and very satisfied about my 106'je. There are absolutely no failures occurred and the car still drives like a charm. Setback is the consumption in the winter it is about 1/14 is in the winter. I ride both city and highway. What I do notice when I just drive motorway, the enormous consumption drops to 1 in 22.

not much special for the rest. I myself replace my light bulbs for a total of 5 euros to white plasma lamps for better and more beautiful light. Also leaked some air out of my tire on the rim. This I must remedy the profile for two decades.

Overall for 20.00 had maintenance in recent 5000km with a 20 year old car!

In terms of driving the car is okay. It is not a racing monster, but 60HP is sufficient to keep up with the traffic. Cornering the car leans something about it because this version does not have a stabilizer, but I do not find this disturbing.

Looking for a cheap but nice car? I advise you to a 106! There will be unlimited doubt some luck to come and watch if you buy a car of this age at this price. I have good checked the car purchase (tires, clutch, oil, etc.).

I drive by this car as long as it remains alive!

Eventually found a car on Mark Place which some seemed to me after what mail made an appointment to come and of course a test drive

After five months have driven a Suzuki Baleno (I soon need a cheap car), I was still ready for something else. I was for a while to see what was going to be the next step, finally decided to go anyway for a Volvo, but now the question, what should it be?

I have in the first instance, my search focused on a Volvo S40 (Phase II), but then later postponed because they like what lay beyond my budget. And it is still more Renault blocks.

By chance I met a S70 standing in a garage. That looked also nice! Just start the engine and that sounded yet also beautiful, no test drive, but there was fanned a flame.

The one and another picked on costs, consumption, options, etc. Eventually came to the conclusion that it is an excellent car that is well above expectations me and still within budget.

Eventually found a car on Mark Place which some seemed to me after what mail made an appointment to come and of course a test drive. The car looked really good, paint was beautiful, motorcycle seemed like new inside and smelled like it was just pulled away from the dealer, including the complete maintenance history was present (but not least!).

The test drive started well, the engine starts with a nice growl and stabilizes immediately a good running pretty stationary. The ride is really a delight, very smoothly, but if required, the necessary power available. The advantage I find myself raising the low revs, it pulls easily and smoothly and overtaking at low revs is no problem. The 2.5L five cylinder does its job well and sounds great. Turns delicious and has no motor defect. Furthermore, the car (as most Volvos) and a block down the road. Suspension is tuned very well so you do not collide with your head on the ceiling at the very first threshold (such as Baleno). Steering is very smooth and is, yet you do have a lot of road feel. There are in terms of ride and handling actually admit no drawbacks. After the test drive, I was literally sold immediately, the car was great and the whole picture was only gotten better than I originally thought.

Some cars are said to be after 2 tons already have had their day, but I hear everyone actually a "real" Volvo has only been run at 2 tons. Indeed, it seems to me as if that's true, I can not find fault and everything seems new.

The options are all working out as it should, remote central locking, electric windows, cruise control, climate control, alarm system, onboard computer, etc. All in all, a pretty complete package where (row) comfort and flexibility certainly paramount stand. Driving this car is a delight and suddenly driving more than from A to B, but also pure enjoyment!

When the sale of the car was known that the timing belt had to be replaced, this I leave almost immediately after the sale do in the garage and there is again a new set up and can turn a ton more, once fresh oil and a new filter on it and I can not worry on vacation.

The car has one true downside that I can not get around, consumption of 2.5L 5 cylinder is not as beneficial as for example a 1.0 peanut engine Up, Lupo, Alto or Cuore (which with great difficulty 100km / h takes on the highway). Fair is fair with an average of 1 in 10 is not the most economical car, but that is the choice you make, if you enjoy the ride, the sound and the fine drive then you're sure about. The same goes for the tax, with two bucks a month you can not get, but then again that's a choice you make yourself. Quite expensive it does certainly not to be.

I am very pleased with the Volvo S70 and recommend it to anyone!
S70 Experiences (283.000 km)After a review written last year after purchasing my S70, I decided now, after half a year and look back here again on the things I did with the S70.

When first I want to emphasize here definitely that I absolutely do not regret buying this super car, he drives like a train with comfort / durability where you can tell.

The performance features which standard holds the Europe of half leather upholstery, cruise control, climate control and burglar alarm. This is much finer than the basic version. Still, I've added a number of options which the slightly again to make little more luxurious.

So I have to include fog lamps (whole set with switch relay etc), birch wood inlay panels and built an electric antenna that little bit of luxury at what else could be added. In particular the installation of the wood trim panels was a lot of work, since this panel where the radio in it is screwed to the inside (with 18 screws!). Yet all the work was well worth it and it seems just a little better. Unfortunately no stoelvervarming, maybe ever too.

Another update that I have done is to replace the standard light bulbs in my dashboard by LEDjes- This makes it even tighter and since there are still some lights were broken, it did so directly.

Motor cars are super strong, the block walk very well and always start without protest. My block used ietjes oil, but that is normal for the age, and it is even nil. He also stays nice temperature and there are not any remarks. The same goes for brakes, coupling and switching, no problems and everything works well.

I still can anyone recommend an extremely solid Swede, after the period that I have come to light in S70, there are so far no negative points driven now. As previously mentioned, the fuel consumption is slightly on the high side but that these gasoline prices too good to persevere!

All in all still very satisfied with the S70 and dare I say quietly that this car is one of the best you can buy (with a not too large budget). At all points he scores are quite high, but the shiners, ride comfort / behavior, durability and safety.

Today, the first service has been performed. Since its commissioning, this is the first time I've been back in the Skoda garage. The car works very well. Pros are of course the DSG automatic transmission. For me the first time I automaton row. I do not want to switch back to itself. Even my wife who was skeptical at first is all about. The car is also exceptionally quiet. The removable rear seats are also quite handy.

Disadvantage compared to my previous car (Citroen Berlingo) is the smaller cargo area and the relatively high sill. Our two dogs should I lift because the threshold is too high for them to jump into it from the street.

I chose the car after comparison with a number of alternatives in its class

The car was delivered on January 5, 2011 as a lease for the next four years.
Now, after more than 10 000 km I can pass my initial findings.

Choice
I chose the car after comparison with a number of alternatives in its class. Briefly: The Passat BlueMotion, the Mazda 6 SB and the Insignia were also candidates. The requirements that I had were: smooth drive, comfortable, quiet and of course value for money (equipment). Mazda 6 and Insignia were required motorisation and options to expensive lease. The Insignia is its higher weight (phew what clumsy) need some more power was my experience. Also, I could not sit properly behind myself (1.97 meters) and the trunk was the smallest of the bunch. The Passat surprised me in terms of lease. Very complete but unfortunately it was still just old model. Anyway, 20% was it attractive .. and unfortunately made a test drive. The engine did not convince me. Due to the extremely long 5th resistance was speeding on not like the highway. Given the fact that I also annually by Appendix abroad (ie mountains) to go is not an option for me this engine.

Avensis Wagon
Dan Avensis. . I find it an upscale appearance in Dark Blue. In the business performance and very well equipped. Reversing camera, auto-dimming mirror, 17 "wheels, navigation, privacy glass, climate control 2 zones, all windows and electric folding mirrors (yes that is not even always standard in this class), everything is there. Said options floated catalog value and lease of some competitors significantly rise.

What the final choice were investigated as well is that you do not often meet him on the way as the other options ...

Driving
Driving is great in this car. With the supplied Pilot Exalto's he drives pretty tight. He is fairly neutral likes me. Not very exciting, but just comfortable and quietly make your mileage. Some people are therefore very pleased ...

Interior
The appearance of the interior is not performed really exciting but tasty non-bullshit. Well I've had a kind of rattle for over 1000 km in the wheelhouse. Only to be told at certain speeds and resonances. However, this is spontaneously disappeared ?! Furthermore, no squeaks, creaks or whatever.

The driving position is for me despite my height excellent. Still enough slack to the roof and ample legroom, should even send toehalen something to me. The lumbar support is delicious. Because the windscreen has moved forward quite far I have in this car more of a sense of space than I had at the test drive eg. The Passat.

The bells I find very beautiful. The navigation system (TNS510) works very well! Tickets were 2010-2011, but already somewhat outdated. Sound system is neutral mention (a compliment). However, he can not really loud distortion-free. The reversing camera is very convenient. Distorted image (wide angle) on the tow bar I have a good reference point. Sensors are not necessary for me besides this camera but I can imagine that if this woman still would like to have ... With the camera

Motor
To drive chosen for the 2.0 D4d. After this test drive proved more than fast enough for my needs. Lovely couple and lovely smooth. Idle and under acceleration hear him anything in the rows on the cruise you only hear your tires and wind. Furthermore, it is very quiet on board. About 2000 rpm at 125 km / h in the 6. On the highway than in the six still ample acceleration to pull even at 140 for overtaking. I'm glad you do not return every turn. Top acceleration time and I have not tested but he should be able to 100 in 10 seconds and then goes up to 200 real mileage. For me plenty.
What should be mentioned is that he is not very fast out of the starting blocks. For 10 seconds you have to accelerate pretty clumsy to me. Anyway, if you want to prove your diesel for the traffic light (so sorry ..) buy probably will not ... Toyota

Consumption
With my driving style (quietly, anticipating) I now drive over the past few months (including the first cold months) average over 1 in 18.5. The last few refueling I sit structurally above the 1 in 19. The tank calculates 19.5 liters per 100 km. The BC standard gives a little too much! to. You do not see much.
If you drive more aggressive / sportier than you will succeed best not above the first to break 15, but do not have ... I drive it everywhere, moreover, the maximum permitted speed. Random values for a car in this class.
For comparison: in my previous 100hp 1.7 CDTI drove about 1:18 average.

Pluses and minuses and measurement
Negative things:
The kind of plastic (some parts) is easily scratched. I take good care of the car but not prevent everything. My previous Astra H was better!

Paint quality is not great. Crushed stone on top of the bonnet and the A-pillar for example .. Tailgating is thereby not really a hobby of mine. Again, the Astra I had little chippings)

Cover flap in luggage is not over conductor. Because the windows behind his dark though I almost never shut.

Out rattle in the wheelhouse.

Service interval 15,000 km

Positive:
Drive: wonderfully quiet and comfortable

Delicious drive

space aboard

Beauty (my opinion)

Valuation comfort is very good, advanced performance are just good reliability I kept on well, yet experienced no failures. By (spontaneously, gone) rattle (still) 4 stars.

Kwa costs this seems to me a great car. With the comments that the maintenance interval is 15,000 km, but this does not cost more to me. Consumption is fine.
update after more than a year (37,000 km)

Two innings (yeah interval 15,000 km) and more than a year use the rest I'm still very happy with the car. During the holidays I was very pleased with the rather fine motor. Always enough reserves to cross delicious in the sixth with the tent trailer in France. Also bij120-130 km / h you only notice the meter that there's something behind ... With an average fuel consumption of 1:15 you may otherwise not complain yet.
Consumption I kept beyond all refueling and I get to 1: 18.2 on average for all refueling. (Interestingly, the BC often too pessimistic). This includes the higher consumption in winter and during holiday trips. Sounds neat.
There are actually mentioning any details. The rubble where I previously wrote about continues to get worse, now also on the hood. Pity that the paint is on the soft side.

Nice detail are the coverings / skirts. Twice once the band farmer (with alternating winter) and once the garage .... The post lift came to be with the bars in the sills because the supports which lie behind the skirts. The result was twice (once in two places) a dent and paint damage to the skirts. There should therefore bobbins between so the car is not on the thick parts of the lifting beams. Both times it recovered nicely but you have a few nagging

But from behind you think still have to deal with a hot rod and that he really is not

We are pleased with the new V40 R-Design. Sheep in wolf's clothing, but who does what.

We could use a good offer from the dealer.

R-Design with business package, heated seats and rear camera as extras. You pull the V40 to instead you get in. It is compact but is still great in the half-leather seats with Alcantara. Fine equipment with perfect navi / audio / cameras / blue tooth coupling options / heated seats and the rest of what is now must sit on such a middle class. Dashboard's funny with different settings, although I prefer the classic car enthusiast a real clock look for an LCD screen.

I think the diesel with 6-speed downright noisy. Especially compared to the 2012 Golf VI 1.6 diesel which we (not private) in driving. Which is a lot quieter than the D2. The Higline chairs from the Gulf are just a little bit better. For the rest is the V40 many more cars in all respects for the money than the Gulf which was just as expensive (Higline with DSG, you pay the new prize). Performance does not disappoint, moreover, despite the modest specs of the 1.6 diesel. Manual shifting with a 6-speed I find over the top. It will be more economical, but I do not find it comfortable.

First two months, driven almost 10K and it's just a party. What a nice car V40 and the compliments you get are numerous.

Although I model (especially the nose / grill / daytime running lights) look very nice, I do not Volvo. Compared to the old Volvos may only carry the current V70 that stamp. But then again, Volvo is doing fine and that other Swede does not ....

We are very pleased with the full voice navigation and telephone operation. Safe and easy. Compliments for Volvo. And the navi is finally at the level of the Tom Tom. Especially the double screen is very nice. Unlike the VAG navi we know from the former Octavia and the Gulf, which is just not really fine. You get used to it, but still. V40 not, that's perfect!

Useful additional feature we still find the bezinedoploze tank closure. Completely fill without spilling still can not, but your hands remain dry.

The dual exhaust is obviously a joke. Yet they are both well connected. But from behind you think still have to deal with a hot rod and that he really is not. Thus, a sheep in wolf's clothing. But one that may be there. We are after two months and 10K very satisfied with the V40!
Squeaking and creaking (35,000 km)

The quality of the materials are less than those of the Gulf. Creaks in the dashboard. If someone is sitting in the back starts to squeak some. Although I think it's a loeimooie car, he can the premium character that he should not have to. Volvo would be a counterpart of an Audi is even better the Gulf put together.

I also find it unimaginable Volvo suddenly move to provide car after 1.5 years of an engine that delivers 75 bhp more at the same price and even below 14% addition. For new buyers great, but for existing riders clear form of cognitive dissonance.
End of the month left (56,000 km)

Due to change of job the V40 will leave at the end of the month. It is still a feast for the eyes, but qualitatively it may not actually wear the badge Volvo. Regarding positioning is he also meant for junior representatives who may choose a leaser of around 25K. The R-Design is certainly a more expensive version of the above 30K, but still. Volvo than a year after the launch of the D4 engine flings it and 80PK delivers more, while the car itself was not expensive, it is a perfect breeding ground for a strong sense of cognitive dissonance. But despite all that, mighty beautiful model and delicious luxury executed. We are going private drive in a Saab :-)

I bought this second Space Star from a dealership at 48000 kms at 3750 euros

I bought this second Space Star from a dealership at 48000 kms at 3750 euros .. after a total loss of my beloved 1998 Space Star, which I of course just yet had completely put in order, although no document had to be replaced after 210 000 kms !! yes yet, only a diode in the alternator repaired artisan for 80 euros, but that was my mistake when I replaced a battery or something. but really no problem or no replacement or exceptional garage visits, proper maintenance and the head strap at 95.000 and 195.000 kms
So really good cars this space Stars, I see them as a modern 2CV Citroen, comfortable and convenient, small engine, and robust.

So now this 2nd 2002, ditto, only it had some mishaps with many scrapes and sprinkles on the chassis (dark blue): Never a dark car you look at everything
.. and son have let it ride eight months ggrrr ... what a mistake:
hole burned into the front seat and door trim, scrapes girlfriend's purse in the glove compartment, she also learned to drive, and slamde acceleration of 4 in 1: engine exploded bijna..en in control without oil driven .. but surprisingly enough, no sign of poor respond by The car ..

so I'm doing him away, but only for all those reasons, with 103000 kms: I like my car in order to know ..
I will say still, I do not know for what reason, the first series of 1998 cars finished better than these last 2001-2002 series cars.

So only pluses, the Space Star: very robust, if not indestructible, almost no or no rust, no wear, low consumption: 5.8 / 100 km in normal driving, good AC, good radio, replace any parts, drives and rides .. a real volkswagen
only thing negative: the 1300 cc is not breathing well on steep sections in the Ardennes: downshift required to 4th gear or 3rd .. but otherwise the 1300 engine enough on their toes, with a pleasant short turning radius, and suspension, no noise, good radio, so pretty blissful ride ..
oh yes, the headlights are sometimes replaced after a few years because the plastic getting burned by salt, as the lights then get something and become dull, 142 euros for 2 components commerce + assembly, or 500 euros in official car all-in!

I think Mitsubishi is really the best brand of all cars.
very robust, which oubolig style sometimes, but one can not have everything, needs little pieces, little rust,
Anyway, if you're looking for a cheap car with little cost: Buy Mitsubishi, or Japanese

The previous car was deceased, two months after purchase. Because the purchase price far below any standard guarantee was therefore, we went with trepidation back to the merchant. Unnecessary, because the trader appeared to want to help us sincerely. So with minimal extra, we could exchange it for a wreck at 40

saw the Volvo fine. The ANWB ever reported that a "more formal" is sedan.
A friendly mug, alloy wheels, clear 90s. No spoilers or frills.
2 small traces of users: 1 schaafje an unwary previous owner (2) and a rust spot on the bonnet stone. Nothing serious.
I was literally the first owner who took the ashtray in use.

The ride:

Wonderfully quiet. The car is like a dike on the road, winds do not, no wobbles and the engine does its work in peace.

The driving characteristics.
For a 1.8 I find the performance a bit thin. I would soon replace spark plugs and cables. But I also think the previous owners were very tame with this car. The engine does its work, as stated in peace. A tractor stripes is not (never intended, I think). More car calling in character for quiet cruising on the Dutch roads. I hang a caravan behind it, then it becomes completely quiet ride.
Incidentally, this leads to a great consumption task for that age: 1:14 I managed with multiple tanks. I hang the caravan it is 1:12.

Reliability:

To date, nothing crazy. Perhaps some preventive maintenance. Over 50,000 km of the timing belt, and not too long as to look at the link.
Because that goes with the French battle. A bit of gamble where all the gears.
Well, I had within 1,000 kilometers after purchase replace the button on the emergency lights, because it was broken hypodermic, so I like a goof had flashing to the dealer. This gave me a lot of sweating, because it led to almost three collisions in roundabouts. But that was solved for less than 100 euros.

Furthermore, the car feels very solid.

Usage:

90% of my fuel is paid, so I'm not very happy.
Road tax 50 euros per month.
50 euros per month + liability insurance.
75 per month maintenance reservation.

At this point I'm doubting whether I ANWB will terminate, and the Volvo dealer will go into maintenance. The Volvo dealer charges 250 for a turn, and then you get a year's Volvo Assistance at. That's kind of roadside assistance from Volvo, which also Europe has coverage.

Comfort:
The seats (half-leather) are still very good, and are aligning multiple ways preparer.
The steering was to purchase jaded, and I've done a cover over it.
The mirrors are electrically operated, and heat, I just need you to locate the button for that heater.
Air-conditioning works very well. Cold is good cold and hot is hot.
Dehumidification he does like no other.

Pity there is no center armrest in it, the aftermarket support are often drunk together (cupholders in the back, what have I had as a driver to?) And Volvo delivers them anymore.

Like I said, I am the first owner who smokes in the car, and then I noticed the ashtray and chair the 12 volt plug behind one door. That's quite awkward, because if you want to upload something, you have to worry damn well that is out of your butt, otherwise you drive the first 20 kilometers in an ashtray smoke.
Stubs shoot out the window I have a Broetje death. Is dangerous for yourself (but he will blow back). And others.

Furthermore, nothing crazy.

All in all, a car that I think I want to ride for several years with great pleasure.
I am now a few thousand kilometers away.
My better half thinks it is important that cars have a name, so I called the car but Boris.
Boris me because that is reminiscent of an ancient locomotive always shunting intercity trains accounting for the Heerlen station. Which also bore the name Boris.

I came to the following conclusion:
Boris is a car that loves pampering, and thus also performs better.
If I white gasoline pump pour into it, the consumption ranges from 1:12 to 1:13. I pour Shell gasoline, that is 1: 13.5 to 1: 14.5. This measured over several petrol tanks. Now saves the price between the tango and the shell is not very much, so I think it's well worth here in Tiel. Because: the engine runs with Shell fuel quieter and seems less ping.

Meanwhile, Boris starts to get some more fit, and what to respond more directly to my commands. Not that I Boris hunt over his head, but I like to at least get the maximum speed on the highway, and preferably with a margin of a 10 kilometer lake. And he does more and more smoothly. (Without this leads to a higher consumption).

As for luxury. I am beginning to discover more functionalities.
There are kind of on the handbrake-like lever next to the handbrake. Which in my opinion did nothing with the chair. Rende reason that the car is 16 years old, I went there for convenience but that they were broken.
And because I with an adjustable backrest and lumbar support already delicious crawled behind the wheel I left it there.
Until I figured somewhere on the A2 at 120 kilometers per hour that I pulled it. And so I pushed it. And that had an effect. A shock as the chair suddenly tilts backwards, especially at 120 kilometers per hour, but then you have some. The drive has now become a real pleasure. I get completely fit. Even after a long drive from north to south.

I'm not so happy with the (new) Quad Tracks (??) Michelin beneath. The car runs well otherwise, but I think the band sounds very hard. And that for new tires. Anyway, I'm back to stingy to replace when they are good.

At the next turn, I'm going to replace the spark plugs and wires.

To date, nothing else crazy.
An excellent road hog, which to me, in principle, through the many highway mileage at me hardly suffers. Just quietly warming up, the car do the work, and he will still be a long time.

I'm getting more and more convinced about this Volvo.
Farewell (233.000 km)Almost a year drove the Volvo, but it's time to say goodbye.
In the past year, the Volvo does not leave me again. And for that purchase price is quite a decent score. There's nothing broke, and consumption is always between 1:13 and 1:14 keep stabbing. The sleurhut figure was between 1:10 and 1:11.
There were something of costs for the next MOT, I guess, but not anything special. The car was just okay. Actually quite boring. (But it also sees S40 look like: dull and solid).
And actually I did not even say goodbye to Boris, as we affectionately called him, but ....

There will be family expansion. Very quickly though. And I'm not known for my patience. So to start practicing again, I recently tried once what was to cram in the ass Boris. That was best. But the trunk lid, and the opening to all that space, drove me regularly to desperate fury. That opening is too small. So to get a pram in it, I had to get all the junk pull it out, then pram in it (and that was not fast, because I had not left, not right but diagonally than a little oblique him), and then see that the rest of the gang damage .... I'm not really blessed with a good spatial awareness, and just everything in the trunk throw succeeds with a sedan net not so good.
Loving wife saw me worry, and finally found it not such a very bad idea to look for something else, if only to save our shoot approaching severe traumas of crying father.

Volvo Boris probably going because of his age his final kilometers (can best a puppet or whatever in) in Poland or Africa wheel.

As for comfort:
Fine. Chairs were fine, and were set fine. Regarding safety, I was less convinced, with only one airbag only for the driver.

Regarding performance: in the beginning I suspected that the previous owners had grandparents who were very narrow highway. In the last year of physics, the car has started to put some more to my driving. I'm not slam hard rider, but I'll drive through nice. And as Boris is also going to behave. Only driving a sleurhut he kept find unpleasant. I've never really easily reached 90 with a caravan of 850 kilos. That was tough. Perhaps a compression thingy. But also a fuel efficient car.

Regarding reliability: fine. At his time a sip of oil and a new filter from here and there, and go. Had no broken things.

Usage: I have not calculated. But I have many colleagues who lease cars on their case, and who pay up to 600 euros for a new Volvo V40. Per month. The road tax is for my Volvo 50 euros, the insurance was 40 (WA +) and the fuel I get reimbursed for 90%, so I do not count. Depreciation was virtually nil, so I row smiling leasende all my colleagues over.
Okay, the risk of suffering a 2nd, 3rd or 4th hand car is slightly bigger than a new company car, but hey, I also pay for again.

Ergo; With a lot of fun driving for a year in Volvo Boris. Can highly recommend it.
The successor is a Ford Mondeo in 2003. Once again, with all the trimmings. In a while, after some kilometers I will write a review about place.

In the eighteen years that I have been able to ride it has abandoned me once by car

After having a small year driven around in the Grand Scénic there was another car out of the pool as lease car. This time a Peugeot 508SW Blue Lease Executive 1.6 e-HDi in the color dark gray.

If Blue Lease Executive is the car equipped with the necessary. Standard navigation with Western Europe, cruise control, Bluetooth, panoramic glass roof, multi verstalbaar steering wheel and driver's seat.

The car is simply a French car. Seats are comfortable, reasonably wide, but not too soft. In terms of steering the car is a lot, but not sharp call. I perceive that you soon come into situations where understeer occurs. However, the suspension is fine on order and you can get pretty smooth bumps.

Much has been written about the engine in combination with the semi-automatic gearbox. The system is indeed not perfect. Yes, it all works like a machine, but he turns really, really fast or slow depending on the situation. Particularly want to be in the city he quite smooth upshifts and you're just taking a roundabout in his fourth, only to fall into the gas all the way and the car suddenly abruptly to return to his first and anticipate fly. Activating the sports mode helps them something. The disadvantage is that it does not remain active and you should do so over and over again and you have to remember is if the tank again makes a special circuit.

The consumption of the Peugeot was according to the trip computer around 5,9l / 100km. On a tank of 70 liters of diesel I could drive about 1200 to 1300 km, in winter about 100 km less.

In the eighteen years that I have been able to ride it has abandoned me once by car. During the summer holidays the engine sends a warning and then a relay of the turbo pump had to be replaced. However, after towing a parking lot near the Route du Soleil with two children in the back seat, so the timing could have been better. The relay was replaced happened five minutes and then we could again continue our way. Furthermore, Peugeot has always served, rain or shine. In terms of maintenance, I can not say much because the bills went to the leasing company. A lot of praise for Peugeot Hylkema in Sneek. Correct reception and the car always neatly washed and dust sucked back after maintenance. Small gesture, but very nice.

With 160,000 km ran us off the lease and as I was then looking for a replacement for the Peugeot. Contract was slightly longer because of the shipping of its successor, the new Ford Mondeo Titanium estate.

Looking back, I found the Peugeot a fine car to drive. Comfortable and excellent equipment. That combined with the semi-automatic, however, I would not take myself if I had the choice. Then or switch itself, or a real machine.

Because of a new job I was again offered a lease. Since the procedure is to first ride a so-called pole-car I had limited choice and I ended up driving into the Grand Scenic 1.5 dCi 110 Dynamique in black.

The car comes with leather upholstery, electric seat adjustment and heating, a navigation system, climate control, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB input for media, a panoramic roof can and open space, lots of space.

The children love the Scénic beautiful. Own chair instead of a back seat, folding tables and the high is good view of the outside world. To sit on the back on the sixth or seventh seat just not speak, that is quite an adventure. I myself am also talking about the car. The seats are good, you have the high is good overview and the car is spacious and bright (thanks to the large glass roof).

The big Scénic is no streaks tractor at the traffic light. For this, the engine is too light and the car too heavy. But it is a very powerful engine, you ride effortlessly unnoticed harder than 140-150 without the engine noise is really disturbing. The vehicle has six gears, so that helps great to reduce the noise level.

Steering is a bit French. Numb and you find yourself in tight corners that you're traveling with a large and high car, because you feel it or incline. Is some getting used to if you were previously accustomed to ride low and better steering cars. Nevertheless, the car is a pleasant car to drive, designed to comfortably transport the passengers.

The consumption fluctuates at around 6.8-6.9 per 100 km. The leasing company always warns me that this is above the norm, but I would not know how to get it underneath, unless I'm driving on the highways around 100 and I do not really pleasant.

The Scénic me leave until now once and I was the car like two weeks lost. After a ride on the highway, I noticed that the car idling "wobbled". I made an appointment at the dealer who suspected that the car was not running smoothly in the engine. This was not the case and after a long search revealed some behind flywheel the gearbox is no longer run properly causing the car wobbled. Moreover, the service of ABD Heerenveen was fine, they kept me well informed of the progress and problems and by the replacement vehicle was not really a problem.

In a few weeks we are going to make a long drive with the five of the holiday. I wonder how we experience it.
Farewell to the Scénic (158 933 km)Right after the holiday to Italy Scénic ran into his contract mileage and early August was also done.

The vacation to Italy with five people (three adults and two small children) went effortlessly. Plenty of room for luggage and for all occupants.

Looking back, I can say that the Scénic is a great family car. The 1.5 dCi is a nice engine. No stripes tractor, but could easily join the movement.

The prolonged failure after total had no further issues with the car.

The replacement is another car out of the pool, a Peugeot 508SW.

A series of claim-free years that began came to an abrupt end on Tuesday

On the Friday before Christmas it happened finally. A series of claim-free years that began came to an abrupt end on Tuesday, September 14th, 1982. I stopped at a traffic light and the driver behind me was that watching too late. There I was. My car had drilled onto the hitch of the vehicle ahead. I had to somehow have a claim in the car, but where? Jeminee which a request all. For the cause was a unique event. It was the first time he caused an injury.

While enjoying a cup of coffee, we have jointly completed the forms. If it should happen to me anyway rather than in this relaxed atmosphere.

After some inquiry put down my car at my dealership. Which killed all his quick judgment. Total loss. I wistfully looked at my (our) Mitsubischi Galant 2.0 GLXi 1998 with 109,000 km on the clock. THE car I had for years meegedacht to advance. He complied exquisite as tractor and trailer for those few kilometers I on an annual basis row was a wonderful car. And now.

Then the Internet turns out to be a great invention. IF you have set once the search framework is almost entirely car-Netherlands occasions just in your living room. Something still can not with my father. According to him, I have old-fashioned ride off the garages because imagine that in the village / town ff further yet to find a better / cheaper car. My wife told me just go look. I explained to her that it does not work. Therefore, the choice is huge. So looking frames. My wife would have preferred a car with a slightly higher sales than the last and slightly smaller. There were, of course, finances. Another car was obviously not on our list.

At the moment I have two issues that in my view are covered by the warranty. When accelerating in 2nd gear around 2000 rpm keeps the engine in FF. He does only go quietly. I kick the gas in the engine pulls usual. Further, the clutch pedal very squeeky. Here, the garage has been looked at during the delivery turn it creaks back now.

problem regarding the contents have not yet been reported. I first want to see if it is not on my driving.

Crunch clutch is made. There was a lot of strength to kick down the clutch pedal is restored.

Cracking the 5th door is back with a vengeance. I must say that again at the next visit.

To notify the rest nothing new.

Update (182.500 km)

The first year is over. The car already had its turn. Costs 407 euro fell against me that while there was nothing to worry about.

I have a unproblematically year behind. Well, I agree with only forum writers agree that the car can not really inspire me. It was a sense of purchase but no emotional buy. Driving I do not therefore spectaculeer.

However, driving with a caravan behind the car is a delight. You really do not notice that 1300 kilograms hanging from the trailer hitch.

Consumption is disappointing. The meter in the car has such a large deviation that I was not even looking at. Over the full year, the consumption average of 1: 13km. If I am driving with the caravan from my calculation gives the consumption is 1: 13,9km. In addition, I must point out that my traffic was about 70%. The remainder is almost motorway.

Update (299 940 km)

Until last year I drove smoothly around the verso. However, from the summer 2014, the Japanese leave anyway drop stitches. I have many problems with the EGR valve. The engine is regularly called emergency operation. At present I have just a repair of almost 1,000 euros behind. According to the garage is also worn the starter. That may sometimes nearly 300,000 km on the clock. However, given the problems with the EGR valve, I'm not going to play on the 300,000 km. That is, the reverse and I will say goodbye. Hopefully the next week and so far there is a 'new' verso dated 2011 in the driveway
