I have the P955S been a year now and I have not had many cars for so long. There are two brands that I find really fantastic and that is the Range Rover and Porsche. I've had three range rovers and this is my 3rd Porsche. To do a 944 and a 911, but drove the Cayenne 4.5S's a completely different car.

I meanwhile drove 13000km and has had a major service at Porsche Maastricht and the cost was a lot less than the Range Rover. Also, a lot less to defect, I have meanwhile xenon lights to replace and have a fault in the parking sensors with very heavy rain but no further problems. We have been with the family in Norway and this is an all-rounder, with 200km / h on the German autobahn, but also ease the mountains of gravel, mud, etc. This is called the dynamic air and 4wd with difflock etc so really everything. Only the ground clearance is less compared to the range rover.

But consumption is much less, the range of 1: 5 and the Porsche 1: 7 and the road tax is also lower.
Yes, of course it is not hugely cheap but it is a Porsche, and there are few cars that keeping me or follow me into the grounds.

The choice between the first two was not easy. My directive was € 30,000, -. The BMW was thereover about 10%, and the VW about 20%. That made me a little too much. The BMW was the last in the grounds of the higher entry (we are 70+) but no SUV height, slightly less height rather more length, comfort, maneuverability, German thoroughness and sense of more cars, talking me very much. After an extensive test drive, I finally went for the adventure with the Active Tourer.
The execution was as simple as possible. However necessary it was Executive Package (Fog lamps, basic navigation, automatic climate control, cruise control and servo control), PDC front and rear and an adjustable back length and little compensation for the surrender of luggage. The engine so the 3 cylinder, 1500 cc and 136 hp Twin Turbo. The color Atlantic Grey (gray / blouw) and an additional set of steel wheels with winter tires.
For us use a performance that had to meet the expectations.

January 7 picked up my new car and the first 1500 km, after four weeks behind.
My first impression sometimes that I now own a mobile computer. Controls and switches are logically arranged, but the number of uses is extensive and get used to. One can therefore better to first make a little ride and then the (moderate) instruction booklet afterwards used as a source of information. Next ride, book consult enz..Dat learns faster as pre-read the (moderate) booklet.

The ride itself is a pleasure. I have the pleasure to ride more often with bigger BMWs, but Active Tourer does not get much for under terms of space. The comfort difference there is hardly any. Of course, it is (only) a 3 cylinder and the known roffeltje during acceleration but also has its sporty charm. Do not make too many revs; change between 2000 and max. 3500 rpm and hole when the fire thanks to Twin Turbo. I love to ride on, the rapid acceleration I appreciate, but I am not someone who goes through the corner with screeching tires. Those who think they miss so called BMW feeling, I am therefore not mean motorists.
The Active Tourer is an excellent steering tight, taut suspension, multi-functional, well thought-out car with a lot of traveling comfort, excellent handling characteristics and, importantly, also the third cilnder, with great pleasure, pleasant steering, driving very smoothly. Consumption, according to the onboard computer, just in Rotterdam area: one at 13. I accept it blindly, because otherwise I drive a car never more. The trunk must either prove in the next vacation.
Oh yeah, it also count ... Nothing but compliments about his looks and the interior.
Hiccups: Thick styles in the field of vision and navigation that can not beat my old TomTom.
